I am building an extension when should I think about the garden?
It always best that the two projects go hand in hand. All the excavations can then be done at the start saving money for later, when it is needed. An approved ‘garden’ budget should be agreed at the outset.
When is the best time to ‘do’ my garden?
There is no hard and fast rule for this, it depends on the client.
In the winter it is messier, but you have the advantage that your garden is completely usable for the first hint of summer.
The spring it is ideal for planting and you will start to get the full benefit for the summer. The summer has its own advantages. It will create the least amount of mess, but obviously this is our busiest time!
The Autumn is a good time for planting and construction and your garden has a season to bed down.
Will it be messy?
Probably! But rest assured we’ll do our maximum to keep disruption to a minimum, and when the work is completed leave the site clean, tidy and will ensure all debris, spoil and equipment is removed.
Do you need a water supply for a water feature?
Simply the answer is no, most water features are filled manually then topped up regularly
I have my own designer can you work with other people’s designs
Yes. We have often worked with other designer’s both in domestic projects and at The Hampton Court flower show.
What area do you work in?
We cover an area of around 15 miles from Sevenoaks which is where we are based. See map
What size projects do you take on?
We take on all size projects from £1k to 100k. (See our portfolio pages)
A drawing is not always clear, can you help.
Yes, I can show you examples of my work on my laptop, and then together we can mark out your garden with pins, line and paint to give you a really good idea of what your garden will look like.
We need to change our garden, but don’t really know what to.
With my experience and guidance and listening carefully to your requirements, whether it’s a play area for the children, an ‘outside room’ for entertaining, or reclaiming an unused piece of garden or sloping ground or a combination of these, there is nothing we cannot achieve together.
Can I take references from past clients?
Yes, I have a good relationship with my clients, and hold past testimonials. Being a member of the Association of Professional Landscapers, The Horticultural Trades Association, the government backed Trustmark Scheme and an approved installer for Brett concrete products should give you confidence.
What if there is a problem
In the unlikely event we cannot mutually resolve an issue The A.P.L has a mediation service.
Do you offer an independently backed warranty?
Yes, through the APL an independently backed warranty can be purchased.
